I had always wanted to be a nurse but things took a different turn and I ended up in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry at the beginning of my career. After a period of ill health I got back to work and ended up living in the USA where I eventually trained as a massage therapist graduating from Humanities School of Allied Health, Florida in 2001. On returning home to Scotland I opened my own remedial massage business and continued to travel back to the USA to further my education in Myofascial Release, the John F Barnes approach. I completed my training with John in 2004 although return regularly to re-take classes and assist with John to further my experience. Until 2009 I was the only therapist in the UK who had completed all of John's classes but as word grows I am now joined by an ever growing group of great therapists. I began teaching myofascial release in 2004 in the form of Integrated Myofascial Therapy (iMFT) which is a unique blend of soft tissue and fascial techniques aimed at restoring balance, function and getting people back to a pain free active lifestyle. iMFT has gone from strength to strength and we are probably the biggest UK training provider specialising in MFR, but there is always more to do...... I also have an MFR treatment centre just north of Glasgow where I work with 3 other MFR therapist, all trained in the USA as well as having completed iMFT. We offer individual and intensive programmes and treat clients from all over the UK.
